Everyone starting an Internet Business would want to see their business take off and succeed, be it selling their own product or affiliate program. But why majority of internet marketer after starting their internet business and try every program and yet still failed? Some give up simply because they do not see enough return or did not make a single dime online. Some managed to make some money, but are still struggling to recover their investment or operating expense.  Here are the Top 6 Reasons why people fail their internet business.

1. Lack of experience
Most affiliate program claims that people selling their product do not need to have prior experience or html programming skill or even computer skill. All these are not true. You still need some basic knowledge in computer skills and marketing knowledge to be successful online.

2. Improper budget allocation
This is the most critical part where most people do not budget properly before starting an internet business.

3. Highly Competitive Target Market
For any hot products out there, you will see tons of competitions and advertiser promoting it. Avoid this market, but rather find a niche product where competition is less. You need to do research before entering into a market.

4. Lack of Time Management
Most people have a full time day job while starting a home business at the same time. They have to spend time for work, family and personal. And eventually, they get exhausted and give up their internet business.

5. Lack of business promotion
Let people know about the products and services you are selling.  If you do not have a solid marketing plan for your business, you will fail eventually because you do not have enough people to buy from you. Hence your business may not be sustainable

6. Lack of Professionalism
A professional website or products and services will lead to more buyers into your business.

Lack of experience is the most common source of failure. Many internet businesses are begun by individuals with no experience at all. Some internet program target those people who do not know anything about online business, and claim that they can make money even with No experience. Until when they buy the products, then realized that some much of work needs to be done, eventually they give up.

Lack of advertising and marketing is another sure way of running the business into the ground.  You can have the best products or the best website on the internet, but if the general public has no idea that your business is open and what services you offer, you will not be able to have enough business to keep your head above water. So if you are positive you do not want your business to fail, start to develop a solid marketing plan. Affiliate marketing is the process of promoting the products or services of another person in exchange for getting a commission every time that one of those goods or services is sold.   Affiliate marketing in this way can be a very easy way for a person to make money and when it comes right down to it the low cost and easy time commitments that affiliate marketing brings to the table are exactly what people need when they are starting up a business.   However, this does not mean that everyone that tries affiliate marketing is going to be successful at it, so even though it is one of the easiest ways to start a business online, you still need to know how to win at affiliate marketing.
 
Location
 
In real estate, location is the biggest thing.  In affiliate marketing, location is also the biggest thing albeit in a different way.   The location we are looking for in affiliate marketing is not the location of geography or region that real estate developers are interested in, but rather the location affiliate markets are looking for is the proper market to sell their products.   Affiliate Products can be targeted into different markets who are interested in different things and trying to figure out which markets are likely to like the products you are marketing is part of becoming a great affiliate marketer. Knowing the fundamental of Affiliate Marketing, you can make things a lot easier on yourself by ensuring that the affiliate marketing that you do is only directed at markets and people that are actually interested in those particular products that you are promoting.
 
Leverage
 
Here is a very sad story in some affiliate marketing circles and it is the story of the person that did not understand leverage.   This person came up with a fantastic marketing plan for affiliate marketing and tried it on one product.  That plan worked great, but because the profits that it brought in were not enough to sustain a full time income, the person gave up and heartbreakingly went back to their old job.  
 
What are the lessons learned?  The lesson is that people need to consider leverage when they consider how to win at affiliate marketing.   Figuring out a strategy that works is hard, but once you have that strategy your next goal becomes to leverage the strategy by applying it to as many different products as possible.  This method is what we call duplications. When you are successful in marketing one product,  make that same strategy works for another products, and so on…
 
If you can make $100 a week selling a certain product, why not start building up your infrastructure so that you end up making $10,000 a week eventually by selling 100 products that each make $100 a week?
 
Critical Thinking
 
Location and leverage are two examples of things that came about as a result of critical thinking.  When you faced with a problem such as too few people interested in your products or too little profit from selling one product, you came up with a solution by thinking on their feet.  Everything that you do in affiliate marketing will require you to have this type of critical thinking. There are ways that you can develop solutions when your affiliate marketing does not bring in results.  Just remember to always re-evaluate the situation you are in and try to think critically about ways that you can make it better.

3. Have all the materials you need- this tip may sound simple but you may be surprised by the number of people who started their home business without thinking of buying the right materials for their endeavor at the start of their operations.

4. Manage your time- set your priority, since you are on a home business setting, it is very easy to become distracted and slack off from work. To avoid this, you must determine the days and number of hours you will really work. It is important to be committed to this decision.

5. Plan your strategies- it is essential that you plan your tasks properly to achieve your goals and meet client requirements. It is recommended for you to create a step-by-step plan for you to meet these requirements. Set the amount of budget and quarterly target objective.

6. Network- this term says it all, it is important to establish connections that will make your business become known to the community. One method of search engine marketing techniques widely used today is pay per click advertising and many website owners are questioning the cost of such ads and whether the return on their investment justifies the expense. Other forms of advertising online, including regular search engine inclusion, banner ads, cross-linking and listing with directories, can have decent result but few are as effective and affordable as pay per click. This doesn’t mean you should choose pay per click and avoid other forms of advertising, a good combination is always the best decision for any business, whether on the net or in the real world marketplace.

Pay per click advertising has been slowly gaining popularity as the way to go in online advertising since its start in 2002. Many search engines offer pay per click ads based on the sale of certain keywords, and there are also networks offer pay per click as a means of gathering more customers to their sites. The minimum cost to set up an account has really come down which some believe makes pay per click advertising one of the most cost-effective ways to advertise online.

The major benefit of pay per click advertising is that you don’t pay unless a visitor clicks your advertising link. This usually means a higher percentage of your advertising budget actually leads to customers. I suggest that you read the terms of any pay per click site that you’re considering.  Both pay per click and other form of online advertising have their strengths and their weaknesses. Other forms of advertisings may not take as much time to perfect as pay per click advertising. With pay per click you can expect to spend an amount of time every week reviewing your keywords and revising your ads and the keyword they are linked to. Although pay per click advertising may cost less but it also takes up more valuable time. The results are targeted to an extent but may not necessarily lead to interesting customers so weekly revising is needed for each keyword account. Other advertising may cost more but are usually intended for superior targeting of customers. Moreover, they don’t call for quite as much upkeep as Pay Per Click advertising requires.

When you are deciding to participate in any pay per click advertising, there are factors to consider such as keywords you will have to buy to be assured coming up on the first page of search results and how much those words will cost. Depending on the popularity of the keywords, they can be pricey and too expensive for many websites. However, for the bigger sites with deep pockets it can mean generating a lot of traffic. Others see it as a way to buy their way onto the front page of search results, often considered an envious position and plan on increased sales making up for the cost of the keywords. And most advertisers do not limit themselves to just one word, however and the cost can quickly escalate, making the pay per click program a questionable investment. They ended up spending more on pay per click, than making sales on the products they advertised.

With network advertising such as Google’s Adsense and Yahoo’s publisher network when a person visits a site, ads are automatically generated to that site with information related to the site they are on. The advertiser pays a similar scale for every click of their ad and the website owner receives percentage of the income the search engine receives from pay per click advertisers.

Additionally, with many network pay per click programs, if the owner of the website clicks on a pay per click ad it could result in termination from the program and the loss of any income previously generated. Even if the site owner is interested in an ad, it is in their best interest to find it another way as opposed to the risk of losing the program.

Since you cannot read the minds of those using search engines, you will need to choose words and phrases that are common. Possible keywords, or tags, could include software, diagnostic tools, printers, keyboard, mouse, and window operating system. And these are just to name a few. The more keywords you purchase means more possible hits for your site. And in some cases the more keywords, or tags, that you have, the better the chance is of having your site at the top of the list.

You will have to update keywords each month since the popularity will chance and words will no longer be used as much as they used to. Update your web pages when adding new content or sections of your website. This will help increase the number of hits you receive. Track your hits to see where they are coming from so you can have a better understanding of which words work the best.

Creating back links is another way to increase your web presence. Back links are simply links to your web site. They can be added to your blog, articles you submit to article directories, press releases, and other web sites. The more back links you have, the higher your search engine ranking will be. Adding keywords to your press releases and articles will also help.

SEO is not difficult to achieve once you get the hang of it. Start by adding keywords and phrases in order to begin using SEO. Add back links whenever possible so you will gain more exposure on the web. Track where all of your traffic is coming from so you can market in areas that generate the most traffic.

There have been a lot of different articles written over the last couple of years about the concept of blogging for dollars that involve making money just from blogging. Many people believe that it can be done and in fact many have done it and there are many others that believe that the people making money from blogging are an exception to the general rule that nobody can truly hope to make money.   Regardless of who is wrong and who is right, if you look at the concept of blogging for dollars from a theoretical standpoint, it is definitely one that makes sense.   This is because the blog has the packaging of all of the different things that you need in order to make money.
 
First and foremost, blogs have a built in content management system.  This allows you to easily post new items to the blog, have your viewers read them and even have them comment and start an interesting discussion regarding any of the posts that you might have made. When you have new product launch, or affiliate products, which you want to review or comment on, you post it in the blog to start an interesting conversations to attract people into your blogs, and when viewers find your comments interesting will start to make their purchases. In the content business it is all about getting people to come back to you repeatedly so that you can make money off their page views and the blog is an easy way to keep people coming back by constantly offering them fresh content.
 
In addition to that, it is very easy to customize blogs.  While it does require knowledge of HTML and PHP, for the most part there are easy things to learn that you can use to get started right away.   It is impressive to think about that, because when you consider the construction of a content website from scratch, what you are going to find is that the people that construct it have to labour very hard in order to get everything up and running.   If you don’t mind to spend some money and using someone else’s design, with a blog you can be up and running in moments and save yourself all that hassle and trouble.
 
Also, because it is so easy to customize blogs, it is also easy to add multiple revenue streams to them.  If you are interested in revenue streams for your blogs aside from Google AdSense or a similar product, running them is going to be quite easy for you to do in a blog.  You might have to completely change the layout of a content website to get the same thing done, but a blog can have them integrated in minutes.   It is really a fantastic thing to do.
 
So all in all, the theory behind blogging for dollars is quite sound and indeed if you want to make money with a blog it is certainly something you can try.   Blog about something you’re interested in, because if you don’t then you might have difficulty continually filling up your blog with content
